Royal Thames 250th Regatta Day One Report

Published 19:50 on 12 Jun 2025
The Seaview Mermaids commenced racing at the Royal Thames Yacht Clubs 250th Anniversary Regatta with two competitive races held in Osborne Bay today (Thursday). Conditions were highly changeable throughout the day, with the fleet experiencing what Dominic Crouch aptly described as all four seasons — a sentiment shared by many who returned to the Race Village soaked, sun-kissed, and wind-battered in equal measure.
Racing took place on fixed marks set in Osborne Bay.

Quote of the Day
We had all four seasons out there—sun, rain, gusts, and complete calm. It was classic Solent madness.
