Near-Perfect Winds, Perfect Score: SVYC Beats RVYC 4-0

The annual Mermaid team race between Sea View Yacht Club and Royal Victoria Yacht Club took place on Wednesday, 28th May. Despite early concerns about the wind, conditions improved into a near-perfect evening for racing.
Our dependable Bosun, Nick Hewitt, and his team had laid a square course under the expert guidance of Race Officers Robert Lidbury and Mike Randall.
This much-loved event was timed for an evening low tide, when RVYC were unable to sail at home—giving us the pleasure of hosting them in our part of the Solent. The racing was exceptional, and spirits were high on and off the water.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious supper in the Clubhouse with our RVYC friends.
And the result?
