If you are already at home on the water, a season at Sea View Yacht Club can be much more than a summer job.
From March to October, our sailing team delivers a substantial programme of racing, training and on-water activity from Seaview on the Isle of Wight. We offer paid seasonal opportunities for sailors, instructors, coaches and people with practical seamanship and boat-handling experience from those taking their first step into the industry to experienced professionals looking to develop further.
Youll spend real time on the water, take on real responsibility and work alongside experienced sailors, instructors and race teams. Along the way, there are opportunities to gain qualifications, develop your own sailing and build experience that can take you into instructing, coaching, race management, professional sailing and other careers on the water.

- Assistant Instructors

You dont necessarily need to arrive with every qualification. If you have the right practical experience, attitude and aptitude, we are interested in where you could go next.
More than a seasonal job
Earn while you develop
Our main season runs broadly from March to October, creating opportunities for anything from summer holiday work to a substantial seven or eight-month season.
We offer excellent rates of pay, holiday pay and staff meals while on shift, alongside opportunities to develop professionally while earning.
Build recognised skills
Sea View is an RYA training environment, teaching sailors from their first experience in a boat through to advanced levels.
Depending on your role and experience, we can support further training and qualifications as you develop helping good sailors and boat handlers become instructors, coaches and experienced members of a professional watersports team.

Working here isnt only about developing other sailors.
Youll have access to Club boats for training, opportunities for your own coaching and the chance to work alongside experienced sailors, coaches and instructors. If youre ambitious about your own sailing, there are few better environments in which to spend a season.
A serious sailing operation
Sea View Yacht Club has been part of sailing in the eastern Solent since 1893. Today, our operation combines extensive member racing, RYA training, youth sailing and our work alongside the Seaview Sailing Trust.
In a typical season, our team supports an exceptional amount of activity on the water:

Alongside 474 different helms racing, 427 different boats competing and more than 3,650 individual race finishes.
9,000+ sailing and training sessions
Delivered across Club sailing and training and the Seaview Sailing Trust.
70+ training dinghies
Supported by a Club-owned keelboat fleet, safety and support craft and a dedicated training centre with modern classrooms and facilities.
It means that whatever your role, there is plenty happening and plenty to learn.
Work somewhere worth spending your summer
Our sailing operation is based in Seaview on the Isle of Wight, with the Solent as our workplace.
Youll be part of a close seasonal team, supported by the wider Yacht Club, a thriving clubhouse and a busy social scene.
Days can involve everything from getting a training fleet afloat and coaching young sailors to supporting racing, driving safety boats, maintaining equipment or helping deliver major sailing events.
Its practical, outdoor work. The days can be long and the weather doesnt always cooperate. But if you would rather spend your season on the water than behind a desk, that is rather the point.
