Join us for a highlight of the Clubs Winter Dinner Series 2027: an evening with David Mearns OBE OAM, renowned deep-sea shipwreck hunter, marine scientist and author, followed by a three-course dinner.
David has helped locate some of the worlds most significant shipwrecks, including HMS Hood and HMAS Sydney. His work brings together historical research, pioneering technology and the determination to solve mysteries far beneath the oceans surface.
For this special evening, David is expected to share the story of his recent expedition to map and film Quest, Sir Ernest Shackletons final expedition ship, and Terra Nova, which carried Captain Robert Falcon Scott on his final Antarctic expedition. The expedition captured detailed imagery of both wrecks, shedding new light on these remarkable vessels and their place in polar history.
This is an opportunity to hear first-hand about the discoveries and challenges of deep-sea exploration, before continuing the evening over dinner in the lower clubhouse.
