Cowes Classic A big success despite Saturdays abandonment
The Club entered 7 Mermaids into Cowes Classic week this year, starting with a Passage race on the Friday, merely an hour after the Charterers had cleared the deck. Alas Saturdays conditions meant that all racing was abandoned by the race committee (rightfully so with 38 knots blowing up the Solent) meaning Sundays results became critical. Charlotte Selected for GBR Team at World Championship
Many congratulations to Charlotte, who has been selected to represent Great Britain at this summers World Championship in Biscarrosse, France. The event will see more than 200 boats from around the world competing, making selection for the GBR team a significant achievement and a proud moment for Charlotte and her family. Mermaid Racing Sunday Update

Fitting Out Supper 2026 Last Night at the Club
Last night, the Club formally opened the sailing season with a sold-out Fitting Out Supper, welcoming 101 members and guests. An excellent turnout, and a strong start to the Bank Holiday weekend. The Mermaid Room hosted a fascinating exhibition led by photography by Kenneth Beken, alongside displays exploring the history of sailing and nautical life—setting the tone on arrival. Bridge Masterclass Day with Andrew Robson
We are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for a special Bridge Masterclass Day at Sea View Yacht Club, led by one of the games foremost players and teachers, Andrew Robson.
