Queen's Platinum Jubilee (Social)
What fun we all had! Whether you were dressed like the Queen (seen on her way up the Yacht Club stairs) for the Jubilee Mermaid Ball, created a masterpiece in bunting, dived into a dish of paella, or joined the throngs of roast lunch bookings, there was everything for everyone! Westmacott regatta
The Jubilee weekend saw a Regatta held to celebrate the Centenary of the 1922 Alfred Westmacott designed Mermaids, the 2nd generation of the Seaview Mermaid. The 3 remaining Seaview boats were joined by other local Westmacott designed Classes, the Victories from Portsmouth Sailing Club and Bembridge One Designs from Bembridge. Hover-fly-past and Ships Salute - from Harriet Hadfield's 5-stories
Hovertravel is planning a unique fly-past for the Jubilee celebrations. On Friday a hovercraft will make a 70-mile trip around the Solent.
