Mermaid Silver Jubilee Cup Bank Holiday Weekend

The Silver Jubilee Trophy, introduced in 1987 to celebrate 25 years of the Robbs-designed Seaview Mermaid, will be raced for on Sunday 25th May during the Bank Holiday weekend. All Mermaid cup races this weekend will start at 10:30am, with racing likely proceeding straight to finals.
Notable past winners include Ben Few Brown, James Mitchell, John Haigh, Anthony Eaton, Max Baines, Colin Simonds, and—most notably—Noel Dobbs, who has claimed the Cup at least eight times, including in 2024. The challenge for this year: can anyone stop Noel?

Expected Wind Conditions:
Sailors can expect moderate south-westerly winds in Seaview, Isle of Wight, over the Bank Holiday weekend. Conditions are likely to be steady, building through the late morning—ideal for competitive Mermaid racing.
