Handicap Class Racing Season Kicks Off! Free Dinghy Chartering for the Platinum Jubilee Cup!

Were excited to announce the start of our Handicap Class racing season with the Platinum Jubilee Cup on Saturday, 24th May. To celebrate, were offering FREE dinghy chartering for all Club Members racing in the Handicap Class.
Whether youre a regular on the start line or its been a while since youve raced, this is a fantastic opportunity to get out on the water and enjoy some competitive sailing—at no cost.
Event Details:
- Date: Saturday 24th May
- Boatpark access: from 12:30 (arrive early to rig and prep your boat)
- Race start: 14:30
- Free dinghy chartering: Available for Club Members in the Handicap Class (book your dinghy below to reserve your spot)
An SVYC Instructor will be on hand in the boatpark from 12:30 to help with rigging, answer questions, and support you right up until all boats are launched. Please allow plenty of time for rigging and launching so youre ready for the 14:30 start.
How to Enter:
To enter the race, simply put your details into the relevant class WhatsApp group on the morning of the race.

A note to sailors:
Please treat your chartered vessel with care—rig it properly, race responsibly, and return it promptly after the race. All boats should be stowed back in their original positions, and any damage must be reported to the team immediately.
Post-Race:
After the race, join us in the club bar to debrief, share stories from the water, and toast the winners. The bar will be open and ready to welcome you for a well-earned drink!
