Royal Thames 250th Regatta Finishes in Style

The 2025 Royal Thames 250th Regatta concluded in style with the traditional passage race home to Seaview. While the race results are still to be formally published, it was already clear by the end of the official regatta race 5 course that Jimbo Mitchell, helming Halluf, had all but sealed overall victory with commanding performances throughout the series. A first place in todays 7.7 nautical mile laid mark course around the central Solent cemented his lead, bringing Hallufs nett points total to just 5 an impressive tally in a competitive nine-boat fleet.

Adastra, helmed by Colin Simonds, had been tied at the top overnight and looked to challenge, but an unfortunate retirement in Race 5 saw her fall back to second overall on nett points. Meanwhile, Cynthia made a late regatta charge with a second-place finish today, overtaking Miranda to claim the final podium spot before the passage race. The race reshuffle continued further down the table with several boats vying for strong finishes, but it was Halluf who proved the most consistent performer over five races.

Attention in the race village now turns to the final prize-giving. A well-sailed and well-organised regatta has celebrated the 250th anniversary of the Royal Thames Yacht Club in fine fashion. A selection of photos from the regatta are below.
