When you draw a line in the sand, be careful it is not low tide*

Wednesday’s race started downwind and downtide with Amethyst over the line first and maintaining that position to the end – shame about the lack of gun. Amethyst had been a little too eager at the start and was OCS. A good race nevertheless with 11 boats. Thursday saw 13 boats on the water and there was even a reserve helm. Early concerns were with low tide rounding the penultimate mark, but these were soon forgotten as we went out to Somers – twice! In the end only three boats ran aground near Bertie and only one needed a friendly RiB to help them out.* Dixie Waters
