Sea View Yacht Club Celebrates a Heart-Warming Charity Christmas Lunch in Aid of Age UK Isle of Wight

This Wednesday, the Club was filled with the sound of conversation, laughter, and the unmistakable warmth of a community coming together. Eighty-four members, friends, and Seaview locals joined us for our annual Charity Christmas Lunch an afternoon that felt every bit as festive as it was meaningful.
Thanks to everyones kindness, the event raised a wonderful £771 for Age Concern UK Isle of Wight. The Club is immensely proud of this achievement and deeply grateful to all who attended and donated.
A heartfelt thank-you also goes to Vanessa Hounsfield and Vilma Barraclough, whose enthusiasm, planning, and hands-on support were instrumental in bringing the event to life, and of course to Jamie Nimmo for spreading the Christmas cheer as Santa.
Comment from John Edwards, Age UK Isle of Wight Trustee and Sea View Yacht Club Member:
It was truly uplifting to see so many people from our community come together in support of Age Concern UK Isle of Wight, said John. The efforts of this charity make a real difference to older residents across the Island, from helping people stay connected and supported through services like the Good Neighbour Scheme, to offering information, befriending, home support, and much-needed guidance through challenging times. None of this could happen without volunteers. Their commitment is crucial in delivering services that combat loneliness, support independence, and improve wellbeing for so many of our older neighbours. If any of our members are interested in lending just a small amount of time even as little as 30 minutes a week to help this vital cause, please contact Michaela White at info@ageukiw.org.uk.
