SVYC Members Brave Baltic Conditions to Ring in the New Year
Published 11:20 on 7 Jan 2026
Sea View Yacht Club would like to extend a huge thank you to the 200 or so members and guests who joined us to welcome in the New Year at the Club, despite truly Baltic temperatures sweeping through the village on New Years Eve.
Undeterred by the cold, the evening was full of warmth, good spirits and determination. As the night progressed, the dancefloor eventually filled with members who adopted a clear dance or die philosophy, taking to the floor under the awning in sub-zero temperatures. This was achieved despite the industrial heater running at full blast throughout the afternoon and evening in a valiant effort to keep the chill at bay.
The resilience, enthusiasm and camaraderie shown by those who joined us perfectly captured the spirit of SVYC, making for a memorable and fitting start to the year ahead.
The Club would like to take this opportunity to wish all members a very prosperous New Year. We look forward with great anticipation to the 2026 season and the collective successes we are sure to experience together.
