ILCA Grand Prix and Seaview Race Week open for entries

Entries have now opened for both the SVYC Isle of Wight ILCA Grand Prix, and Seaview Race Week. With updated formats for both events, members are encouraged to get involved with the best sailing that Seaview has to offer! The ILCA Grand Prix event can be found Here, with links to the entry form and Notice of Race. The event is free for SVYC members, but costs £5 for non-EWCC members. With ILCA affiliation for the first time, this is shaping up to be a firm highlight of the Seaview Calendar. Both the event NoR and series NoR can be found at that link.
Seaview Race Week has had another shakedown this year, with six classes competing over 3 days for all ages. The aim? Provide some excellent, high quality racing for maximum competitiveness and enjoyment by all. All races will be run off a committee boat, with windward starts and high quality courses. For the open classes, we aim to provide something different to the class norm, maximising variation and enjoyment for members. SVODs may be put round the cans to a windward finish line for example, or the Mermaids on special course 3! All entrants are encouraged to attend the briefing at 09:30am Monday morning, which will explain the various course options for each class. Race Week T-shirts are back, of course, and entrants can choose whether to purchase one on the booking form. Note, the Mermaids are also now available to book for Race Week; the usual 1 month rule has been put aside!
