Clean Water campaign - from Harriet Hadfield's 5 stories

My top story this week is about something I have often covered in 5-Stories - our ongoing fight to clean up our seawater. Southern Water has announced two dates next week for public meetings - where you can go along, hear about the company's plans to tackle storm overflows and ask questions about whether they are doing enough to solve the problem as quickly as possible. The event in Ryde will be held next Thursday March 9 and Newport's the day after on March 10 - further details here. In Seaview we've been waging a micro-campaign to clean up our outfall pipes, including hosting a public meeting with the company last year. But progress is slow - with the Island's ancient sewage infrastructure and growing population and housing density - this is something in my opinion which needs action from water companies sooner rather than later.
