Wightlink has blamed  "criminal action" for a data break in which hackers stole customers personal information. Describing it as a "highly sophisticated cyber attack", the ferry company says it has contacted a small number of people who might have been affected last month. The company, which has reported the breach to the police, says it has asked cyber security experts to investigate. Wightlink chief executive Keith Greenfield says: "I would like to thank all my colleagues at Wightlink who responded quickly ensuring that the impact to customers was minimised and that cross-Solent travel and bookings were unaffected." Meanwhile, the FastCat service from Ryde Pier to Portsmough Harbour has seen cancellations this week due to a specific member of staff being out-of-action - putting extra pressure on the hovercraft - which itself was battling the elements with some pretty rough weather last week. From Harriet Hadfield's 5 stories. To read more pieces or subscribe, click here.
