Race Day 5 The Tables Turn

Lots of debate in the Lawrence household, should we, shouldnt we, and after a delicious dinner with friends on Saturday 5th, we decided it had to be done. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. We would cancel countless meeting, even, heaven forbid, The House Committee meeting.. to make it to Barcelona to watch Ineos compete in the 37th Americas Cup match, and finally bring the cup home..

By Tuesday 15th October that wasnt looking like such a good decision with Ineos trailing the Imperios Team Emirates 4-0.. Still a much better sailor than me once said Imagine if they come back from here and we clung on to that thought as we battled our way to Heathrow airport Wednesday morning.. and what a day Wednesday Oct 16th proved to be…

Firstly as we rushed from the airport after a few quick whatsapps  Alana Rowland told us we could get into the INEOS Friends and Family  base.. OMG werent we lucky.. arriving just in time to see Ben and Dylan and Team Ineos calmly steering the team to 2 wins and moving the result to 4-2..

The team handled the moderate sea state much better to stay on the foils in the lighter airs in race 5. The Tuesday practice day had paid dividends. While race 6 was an Americas Cup classic with Team Ineos getting a cracking start, and then capitalising on that through the race.

Debating it with John Claxon too, who we bumped into at the Ineos base, we thought they had a speed improvement as well. So we are set for a cracking weekend  and all to play for..

Well done Ben, Dylan and all of team Ineos. Not a bad result for a SVOD sailor…
