Junior Cadet Week - Training Week 5
Week 5: More than just Junior Cadet Week
More than just Junior Week—flexible coaching options allow older sailors to book private or small-group sessions all week, even during Cowes & Cockles Weeks.
Course Overview
The fifth week is dedicated primarily to our younger sailors (8-11). With Cowes Week and Cockles Week underway, we cant accommodate full-week courses for over-12s—however, private lessons and tailored half-day sessions are available for all ages throughout the week.
Junior Cadet Week is all about confidence, fun, and friendships. Beginners train in shallow water on the Duver with exceptionally high instructor ratios (1:3). More advanced groups enjoy race-focused sessions with coaching, drills, mock protests and lots of time on the water.
Classes include Optimists, RS Teras, Picos, Fevas and Visions.
The week includes the popular Thursday disco and finishes with a Friday parents race and prizegiving, weather permitting.

To keep the week flexible, if a class is oversubscribed we offer equivalent alternatives:
- Optimist > Tera / Topper / Pico / Vision
- Tera > Optimist / Topper / Pico / Feva / Vision
- Topper > Optimist / Pico / Feva / Vision
- Pico > Tera / Topper / Feva / Vision / Dart 16
