RYA Dinghy Instructor Course
All Dinghy Instructor Courses run for 5 days, following a Pre-entry Sailing Assessment (1 day) with an RYA Dinghy Trainer using an RS Vision, Pico, or Laser.
You may book both together or separately — its recommended to complete the Pre-entry Assessment in advance.
This intensive course requires a high standard and may include evening work. Successful candidates qualify to teach at RYA dinghy schools worldwide. Training covers the RYA Method, teaching techniques, practical sessions, presentations, and basic racing tuition (with potential for RYA Racing Instructor qualification).
Courses use the clubs dinghy fleet: Optimist, Topper, RS Tera, Pico, Laser 4.7, RS Feva, RS Vision, Buzz, Dart 16.
If unfamiliar with any class, contact the office to arrange a trial or private lesson.
Pre-entry Assessment: requires 11+ knots of wind; valid for one year. Alternative boats may be used by arrangement with Jon Curtis.
Minimum age: 16 (open to adults).
