Cockles Week 2026

3rd - 6 August

About Cockles Club

The Sea View Yacht Club believes its younger members really are the future of the Club. With this in mind, the Cockles Club was set up 20 years ago by the Wakefield family to provide four days of activities for children or grandchildren of members before they are old enough to get out on the water and go sailing. The week has grown year-on-year, and we now expect upwards of 130 children to join in the fun.

The children, known as Cockles, provide the focus of the week, alongside their parents and grandparents. Activities include swimming, rowing, paddle-boarding, riding, football, tennis, arts & crafts, yoga, plus a group beach sports day, all ending with a well-deserved party for the grown-ups at the Club!

Important Information

  • Each Cockle requires a nominated guardian at all times during the week (parent, grandparent, nanny, or au pair). No adult can supervise more than one child.
  • Cockles will be placed in groups based on age. If you want siblings or cousins grouped together, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.
  • We welcome helpers of all kinds! Whether you can offer your time, lend equipment, or provide space, your support is greatly appreciated. Please email the Cockles team if you can help.
