Succession Committee

As part of the feedback received from members over the summer of 2020, a number of requests were made for more transparency and diversity in the Club appointments. In light of this feedback, in October 2020 we launched the Succession Committee. The role of this group is to enable a more transparent process and communication around future positions in the Club, to allow us to do a better job at finding members who want to contribute, and to match them to the roles that need to be filled. The Succession Committee's role is to gather members suggestions. The eventual appointment decisions are made by the General Committee and, where applicable, the membership at an AGM.

Here is the letter explaining how the Succession Committee works and our first request for names, sent to members on 28 Oct 2020. 

And here are subsequent letters sent to members on roles to be filled:

22 Jul 2021. Looking for a Rear Commodore House, Trustee, Trustee of the staff fund, and members of the General Committee and Membership Committees. 

13 Jan 2022.  Looking for a captain of Motor Boats, a captain of Paddle Boards, member of the General Committee, a young accountant to join the Finance committee, and Paddle board instructors.
