Introducing the NEW look Seaview Race Week!

The annual Seaview Race Week will take place on 7-11 August, but with a fresh twist! 

This year we will be running Race Week for adults as well as cadets, with two committee boats running separate racing circuits. Alongside the usual offering for cadets of Laser (ILCA), Cadet Squad, Fast and Slow Handicap racing for cadets, a second committee boat will be offering races for adult Laser, Mermaid and SVOD sailors, with Olympic courses and close racing guaranteed! Also on Thursday, we plan for a new all in Handicapped dinghy race off the deck for Race Week and Handicap Class sailors together. 

RACING PROGRAM (Circuit 1 U18s)

For the Cadets, we will aim to complete 8 races over the three days Monday to Wednesday, along with the joint Race Week/Handicap Class all in race on Thursday, and the annual Mermaid Race on Friday. Racing starts at 11:00 Monday and Thursday, and 10:30 Tuesday and Wednesday. RACING PROGRAM (Circuit 2 Adults)

To replace the morning race, we are inviting Handicap Class sailors to come and join the Race Week fun! With 5 races planned over 3 days, and all 5 races counting towards the Handicap Class season points. The three starts will involve Laser (ILCA), SVOD, and Mermaid starts, all off a windward start and over Olympic Courses. Lasers and SVODs can enter here, and Mermaids can enter here (note for Mermaids you will have to enter each day separately). 

SOCIAL & COMMINUCATION:

Two social evenings are planned, including joining the club pizza evening on Monday, and Prize Giving at the BBQ on Wednesday, both held at the club.

Communication around Race Week (for the Cadet circuit) will be largely via the Race Week 2023 WhatsApp group. Please use the link here to join. Communication for the Adult circuits will remain on the Mermaid, and Handicap Class WhatsApp groups.
