Cockles Club 2024 is now open for bookings!

The outgoing team of Emma Lawrence and Johnny Ashenhurst who have been excellent custodians of the Club for the last two years have handed over ongoing preparations for this year's programme to the team at the Yacht Club whilst a new team of leaders is brought on board. The Club is now beginning to build this year's exciting schedule with their support, but both will be having much less direct involvement in 2024. Don't worry, every effort will be made to ensure this year is every bit as exciting and fulfilling for our Cockles children as the previous Cockles Club weeks.

As a reminder, The Cockles Club will run from Monday 29 July to Thursday 1 August, which is the same week as Junior Cadet Training Week. Core information about the Cockles Club is below.

• Cockles must be aged a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 7 years as at 1st September 2024
• All participants for Cockles Week must have a parent or grandparent who is an SVYC member
• Each Cockle requires a nominated guardian to be with him or her at all times over the four days. This can either be a parent, grandparent or a nanny / au pair. No adult can be a guardian to more than one child. Please be prepared for give details of this nominated guardian when making your booking.
• Cockles will be placed in groups based on age but if you have children that you need to be in groups together (e.g. siblings or cousins) then please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

Applications:

Bookings will be taken via the SVYC website in a similar manner to training course and other event bookings already available.  In previous years, this will sell out. If that happens we will try to add capacity but this is hard to do for late bookings. Please do not delay in booking to avoid disappointment.

Pricing

As per last year, there is one rate for booking. In a bid to keep up with the increasing costs of providing a quality array of activities (using local and often small-scale and specialist suppliers) and event components, the charge will need to be slightly more than last year at £150.00.

We require as many helpers as possible and welcome anybody wishing to participate in any way be it their time during the week, or the lending of equipment and gardens/space or anything else which you think could be useful.
