Wightlink FastCat late-night crossing - from Harriet Hadfield's 5 stories

Welcome news potentially from Wightlink which is considering re-extending the FastCat timetable back into the later evenings again. OnTheWight reports news of the changes emerged from a meeting held between Councillor Richard Quigley - also chair of the Islands Labour Party - and bosses from both Red Funnel and Wightlink. There's not much detail around beyond: A Fastcat service running later than 8.20/8.50pm is hoped to be reinstated in the Spring.  I have emailed Wightlink myself to try and find out some more information as this will make a huge difference to those commuting to London for the day by train and others who want to have a later night out in the bright lights of Portsmouth City before returning home. I'm sure I remember an often slightly noisy 0052 service from the Harbour to the Pier.  We need our ferries to run as much as possible - and keeping us in touch with the mainland via the FastCat in the evening would benefit the Island considerably. From Harriet Hadfield's 5 stories. To read more pieces or subscribe, click here.
