SVYC wins through to RNLI Quiz final

On Friday 15th February our brainy quiz team, consisting of Lis and Mike Randall, John Turner and Johnnie King, won a well-deserved place in the final of the RNLI Quiz which raises funds for the Cowes Lifeboat. Sea View Yacht Club are the current holders of the Inter Yacht Club RNLI Quiz Trophy.
SVYC lead from the start in a tough quiz against stiff opposition from several teams from Bembridge Sailing Club, who were the hosts, and Brading Haven teams. They demonstrated their superior acquaintance with such diverse subjects from general knowledge to history, geography, nautical knowledge, a picture round and questions on the Isle of Wight.
The Royal Solent team are already through to the final. The last of three places in the final will be decided between teams from The Squadron, Royal London, Royal Corinthian and the Island Sailing Club on 1st March.
Please do come and support your team on Wednesday 13th March at the Island Sailing Club, Cowes in the final.
There will be a supper starting at 18:30 (6.30pm). The quiz starts at 20:00 (8pm)
