The Isle of Wight Day flag travelled down the length of The Solent, passing from one sailing club to another. It eventually arrived at Seaview and was saluted from the race deck as it was passed by Ryde Inshore Rescue to The Lord Lieutenant. The High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight accepted the flag from the Lord Lieutenant and passed it to Bembridge Inshore Lifeboat crew. The flag then travelled to Bembridge where it was taken ashore thus completing it's journey.
Crews from Bembridge Sailing Club, Yaverlands Sailing & Boating Club and Sea View Yacht Club took part in Mermaids races off Seaview in a good, but stiff breeze. The final race for a special Isle of Wight Day trophy was won by Noel Dobbs.
